Weekly Schedule: May 25^th – 29^th

1. We are continuing our Animal Unit. This week we will be learning more about how people have observed nature and copied it to make inventions. At the end of the week, during out Friday Zoom meeting, students will be asked to share their own invention, inspired by nature. This may take the form of a drawing or a 3D model. I have included the Teacher Sheets listing a video to watch, and ideas/materials to use to create these inventions. Again, if your child just wants to do a drawing, that is fine.

2. Our Theme of the Week is: “How can weather affect us?”

3. We will continue to focus on indefinite pronouns, as well as compound words, cause and effect, and using commas correctly in dates and letters.

4. Spelling Patterns this week focus on words that begin with wr, kn, gn.

Our Spelling Words are:

gnat, gnu, know, knife, been, write, wrong, cause, dawn, their

5. We have two more birthday books to make. One is for Giada, and the other is for Tensley. These will be included as part of the daily writing assignments. Please take a picture of each and send to me as a pdf file.

6. Finally, a “heads up” that next week we will learn how baby animals are both similar and different from their parents. Students will present either a poster or a 3D model of any animal of their choosing and tell how adults and children (of that animal) are both alike and different.
