Dear Dapplegray Staff and Families,
We would like to provide an update on the ongoing PV Drive North Roadway Project and the progress being made to prepare safe pedestrian and transportation access routes in advance of the start of school.
Today, the contractor completed several important milestones, including:
- Removal of the K-rail that had been located on the school site.
- Construction of new curb access ramps at the northwest corner of the campus.
- Installation of a portion of the temporary asphalt needed to establish pedestrian access on the northwest side of the school.
Tomorrow, the contractor is scheduled to complete the additional pavement work necessary to finalize the temporary pedestrian walking paths. The remaining K-rail will also be adjusted to provide the planned width for pedestrian access, and the crosswalk will be restriped. City staff will continue to closely monitor construction activities to help ensure that all temporary routes are ready for use on the first day of school.
In addition, PV Transit has identified a location for the temporary bus stop and has provided the City with a temporary bus stop sign, which is expected to be installed tomorrow. The temporary stop will be located on the east side of the school, before the start of the K-rail. This location was selected to support safer loading and unloading of students and to avoid the need for the bus to merge into traffic from within the temporary construction configuration.

We will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available and remain committed to ensuring safe access to campus throughout construction.
