Friday was an amazing day!  The Arts Alive program was wonderful!  What a special day for our students.  The kindergartners had four workshops - Art (Fairy Garden rock animals), Drama (acting and improv), Storytelling, and Hula dancing!  It was a fun-filled day.
We also were lucky to have the chicks in our room!  I'm not sure of the total for kindergarten but we hatched 10 baby chicks!  They are unbelievably cute and the kids are really enjoying them!
If you are interested in adopting chicks, please let me know.  The chicks will all be going home to their forever homes the week after labor day.

Community's Child

Dapplegray is collecting food for a local organization called Community's Child.  This organization helps local homeless families with food and provides temporary shelter when needed.
Here is the link to their website if you would like  more information.
We have a bag in our classroom and will be collecting food.  The attached flier has some suggestions.  Mrs. Cash (5th grade teacher) will be collecting the bags on Friday, April 20th. and delivering them. I know it's short notice and I htink she'll be collecting again next month but I'm not sure.
If you can, please send in a can or two :)

Field Trip

Our Field trip coming up on Wednesday, April 25th 9-11:30. We have limited room for chaperones on the bus. Please let me know if you are interested in joining us. If too many parents want to join, some will have to meet us at the interpretive center. Please let me know as soon as possible.

We have library every Tuesday at 9:00 am.  Your child will bring a book home each week.  The book is due back the following Tuesday.  If a child forgets, that's ok, they will just have to wait to check out another book until the first is returned.

Please be sure to bring your folder to school each day - even if it is empty.  I usually have papers to send home and it's easiest if we have a folder to fill.
