Hello Kindergarten and TK students! Today I've posted three songs, two of which are spoken and have a steady beat you can pat or clap to. One is called "Number One, Touch Your Tongue", which rhymes and the second is called "Oliver Jump". It is also a speech piece that you can do the movement for fun! The third is a song called "Silly Street" that's super silly and very fun to learn! It has plenty of rhyme as well. I hope you enjoy these! This is our last week of music online! I hope you have a great summer and that I see you in class in the fall! xoxo Mrs. G

Merry-Go-Round

Round, round, merry-go-round,
Up and down, up and down;
I’ve got the fastest horse in town,
On my merry-go-round.
One is white, one is black;
One has polka dots on his back,
Red and yellow and gray and brown,
On my merry-go-round. On my merry-go-round.

Merry-Go-Round Poem
By Dorothy Baruch
I climbed up on the merry-go-round,
And it went round and round.
I climbed up on a big brown horse
And it went up and down
Around and round
And up and down,
Around and round,
And up and down,
I sat high up
On a big brown horse
And rode around
On the merry-go-round
And rode around
On the merry-go-round
I rode around
On the merry-go-round
Around
And around
And
Round.

Ducks in the Rain
By James S. Tippett

Ducks are dabbling in the rain,

The Caterpillar Poem
By Douglas Florian

The caterpillar’s not a cat.
It’s very small
And short and fat,
And with those beady little eyes
Will never win a beauty prize.
The caterpillar’s brain is small –
It only knows to eat and crawl.
But for this creepy bug don’t cry,
It soon will be a butterfly.

It’s very small
And short and fat,
And with those beady little eyes
Will never win a beauty prize.
The caterpillar’s brain is small –
It only knows to eat and crawl.
But for this creepy bug don’t cry,
It soon will be a butterfly.</itunes:subtitle>

Verse 1
Fuzzy, fuzzy caterpillar crawling, crawling by,
Don’t you know that someday you will be a butterfly?
Don’t you know that someday you will be a butterfly?

Verse 2
Tiny, tiny pollywog swimming ‘round the log,
Don’t you know that someday you’ll grow up to be a frog?
Don’t you know that someday you’ll grow up to be a frog?

The Caterpillar Poem
By Douglas Florian

The caterpillar’s not a cat.
It’s very small
And short and fat,
And with those beady little eyes
Will never win a beauty prize.
The caterpillar’s brain is small –
It only knows to eat and crawl.
But for this creepy bug don’t cry,
It soon will be a butterfly.</itunes:summary>
